Conversations with the Earth: The Forest Remembers

"See & Draw" Art Workshop Series 7 Institute for Nature Study, National Museum of Nature and Science In a forest left to grow as it pleased, so many lives were shining— on the ground, and high in the sky. As we drew side by side, somehow our pictures started to look alike. On our walk we found it: trees joining together like an arch overhead. Branches stretching soft and supple, the coolness of their shade. Meeting the color of the water with an open heart, charmed by little leaf-boats of every color floating on its surface. Caught up in the fun of it, caught up in the beauty— why is it, I wonder, that we can't look away? A forest left to grow as it pleased, a forest filled with light and gentle moisture.

自然にまかせて　育った森には

たくさんのいのちが

輝いていました

地上にも

天空にも

一緒に描いていたら

なんだか似てきたね

散策で見つけた

アーチのような　木々の共演

しなやかに伸びる木や

木陰の涼しさ

水の色に　素直に向き合い

色とりどりの小舟に　心惹かれ

面白さや　美しさに

夢中になった

なぜ

見入ってしまうんだろうね

自然にまかせて　育った森

光と潤いで　満ちた森
