Artist Bio
Born 1979, in Nagoya, Japan. Hitomi Nakamura graduated from Aichi University of Education, Kariya, Japan (BA); Tokyo University of the Arts, Tokyo, Japan (MA); and Tokyo University of the Arts, Tokyo, Japan (PhD). She now lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.
Nakamura is an artist and a practical art education researcher who focuses on “the presence energy". She creates paper cut-out artworks made of handmade Japanese papers in combination with installation and performance, various workshop. She also works in the field of art education in various schools (primary, junior high, high school) and university, communities.
Nakamura has had exhibitions at: the ‘42th International Art Award Exhibition’ at the Tokyo Metropolis Art Gallery, Tokyo (2017, Chairman’s Award), ‘Tokyo University of the Arts Art Festival 2021’ online (2021, Guest Jury’s Special Award),’In Spring: Prayer at the Conservatoire de Paris’ at the Public halls CNSMDP, Pari, France (2022); among others.
1979年名古屋生。愛知教育大学卒業（学士）、東京藝術大学大学院修了（修士）、東京藝術大学大学院修了（博士）。東京在住。
アーティストであり、「存在感のエネルギー」に焦点をあてた実践的な美術教育研究者でもある。手漉きの和紙を用いた切り絵作品をインスタレーションやパフォーマンス、様々なワークショップと組み合わせて生み出している。また、様々な学校（小・中・高）、大学、コミュニティでの美術教育にも携わる。
主な展覧会に、「第42回国際芸術大賞展」東京都美術館、東京（2017年、永森会長賞）、「東京藝術大学芸術祭2021」オンライン展（2021年、審査員特別賞）、「春に： Prayer at the Conservatoire de Paris」公共ホールCNSMDP、パリ、フランス（2022年）など。
